MAQGNet

In November 1984, some very insightful women had a vision to have representatives from different guilds get together and share information pertaining to their guilds, programs, and anything else quilting related. They worked to make their vision a reality and over the intervening years the organization, presently known as MAQGNet ( Mid Atlantic Quilt Guild Network), was formed.

MAQGNet currently includes about 45 member guilds and 60 resources. We meet once a year in the spring, generally in central New Jersey. Meeting time is spent evaluating teachers and speakers (Resources) that the guilds have used over the past year, and discussing other guild related topics including: membership drives, quilt shows, fund raising ideas, volunteerism, philanthropy programs and more.

Our next meeting will be held April 12, 2008 10am-3pm location to be decided. Check back for details.

MISSION STATEMENT

The goal of MAQGNet is to unify quilds with diverse interests by sharing information on resources(lecturers and teachers)and other topics pertinent to quilt guilds; discussing and finding solutions to guild related issues; and promoting a positive atmosphere in which quilting can flourish.

MAQGNET meets once a year in March at a central location to review resources, share information and discuss relevant issues. Members can also access resource information on-line 24/7 in the password protected section of our web site.

GUILD INFORMATION

Membership to MAQGNet is open to all quilt guilds in the Mid-Atlantic region. Dues, payable annually in February, are $15 per year. Payment of dues entitles your guild to send representatives to the annual meeting and to receive the annual MAQGNet binder, which includes contact information for member guilds, detailed information on member resources, a quilt show schedule, information on people who quilt for a fee and more. Your are also provided with a password so that you can visit the "Members Only" section of our web site that provides on-line access to Resource critiques from that year's meeting and resource contact information.
Member guilds are encouraged to send participants to the annual meeting. Interaction among guilds at this meeting provides much greater benefit than the binder alone.

To receive a Membership Application please email MAQGNet2006@optonline.net
